Research & Innovations Consultancy - USA
Hamish Christall has joined the Blue Spark Team to head up our new Research and Innovations services in the USA.
After many successful years as a Head Chef in New Zealand, Australia and London, Hamish has rapidly made a name for himself within new product development. He has been responsible for inspiring new ideas and turning them into commercial realities; developing fantastic products for leading retailers and manufacturers such as Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Bigham's and Bakkavor. This included the award winning Bacon Lattice in the Sainsbury's 'Inspired to Cook' range which received Poultry Product of the Year and Overall Product of the Year at the Super Meat and Fish Awards in 2009.
His core areas of expertise are in the ready to cook, soups and sauces, readymeals, snacks and food to go sectors. His most recent NPD accomplishments for Waitrose include own label range extensions, continuous development and new product launches for the 'Easy to Cook' collection as well as Canapés, BBQ, party food and products for the deli counter.
Hamish's strengths lie not only in creative product development, but also in his ability to effectively guide concept teams to help them make their products really stand out in a competitive and fast moving market place. With his positive can-do attitude, he goes the extra mile for the benefit of the teams he works with and has experience of leading innovations workshops for culinary insights and emerging trends.
He has an immense passion for keeping up with all the latest trends in the world of food and is constantly scouring farmers market, deli's, supermarkets and restaurants for inspiration. He has a real gift for spotting emerging trends and how they can be successfully translated across different food categories.
